#HellaBlack Vol. 6: Sacred

#HellaBlack Vol. 6: Sacred — curated by Amanda Shea — asks the performing artists to embody and present what makes them feel grounded in their creation. The artists will showcase how this sense of safety, security, and secrecy influences their artistic expression.

Now in its 6th year, #HellaBlack is an interdisciplinary performance event curated by and for Black artists, to amplify the depth of Black artistry, and shine a bright light on the talent of Boston’s Black artists and their communities. This event is meant to create a safe space for the Black community to celebrate intersections of Blackness through dance, art, spoken word, and music, to dispel the myth of Blackness as a monolith. This annual signature event is part of a commitment to move towards race equity at BCA.
