#HellaBlack Vol. 7: SHIFT

#HellaBlack Vol. 7: Shift — curated by Amanda Shea — asks the performing artists: How does your work change when both your personal and external worlds are fracturing? Do you shift your work in response to the world, yourself, or both? Within this constant flux, art becomes a blend of personal emotions and external influences, shaped by the ever-changing world around us.

Now in its 7th year, #HellaBlack is designed to create a safe space for the Black community to celebate intersections of Blackness through dance, art, spoken word, and music, dispelling the myth of Blackness as a monolith. A signature program of Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), the event is part of BCA’s commitment to advancing race equity.

This year marks the first time the program will be free and accessible to all, thanks to the support of the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston. RSVP is required to secure your spot, as space is limited.
