Call for Artists!
Applications are now open for #HellaBlack Vol. 7: Shift
#HellaBlack is an interdisciplinary performance event curated by and for Black artists, to amplify the depth of Black artistry, and shine a bright light on the talent of Boston’s Black artists and their communities.
This event is meant to create a safe space for the Black community to celebrate intersections of Blackness through dance, art, spoken word, and music, to dispel the myth of Blackness as a monolith. This signature event by BCA is part of a commitment to move towards race equity.

#HellaBlack Vol. 7: Shift — curated by Amanda Shea — asks artists how their work changes when both their personal and external worlds are fracturing. Does the artist shift their work in response to the world, themselves, or both? Within this constant flux, art becomes a blend of personal emotions and external influences shaped by the ever-changing world around us.
This program is supported by the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston.
