A Book Launch & Artist Salon with BCA Resident Artist Suzanne Merritt
Join Boston Center for the Arts in celebrating the launch of The Curious Soul: Seeking Beauty, Finding Self, a new book by BCA Resident Artist Suzanne Merritt, for an evening of creativity, reflection, and conversation. Drawing from 25 years of creative exploration, Merritt’s book weaves together the forms of an artist’s sketchbook, philosopher’s journal, and creative travel guide, inviting readers to explore the transformative power of beauty and its capacity to deepen our relationship to creativity and life.
The evening begins with a presentation by Merritt on the art and ideas behind The Curious Soul, including the “Universal Archetypes of Beauty”—a framework for strengthening the spirit, expanding creative possibility, and cultivating beauty as a daily practice. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with creative practices from the book and explore which Archetype might deepen their connection to their own creativity. BCA Artistic Director Shey Rivera Ríos will then moderate a conversation with Merritt about unlocking new creative possibilities and building a more meaningful relationship to the creative process.
Celebrate the launch of The Curious Soul with an intimate artist salon honoring the intersections of art, beauty, and the creative life.
