Self Care Sundays @ BCA is a new interdisciplinary virtual experience intended to bring joy, healing, and celebration through activating our minds, bodies, and souls.
Join Boston Center for the Arts every first and third Sunday from 12-4 in November and December for pop up moments of ultimate self care like midday yoga, afternoon meditation, artistic inspiration, performances, and more filmed and broadcast in partnership with The Loop Lab.

Yewande Odetoyinbo
Yewande Odetoyinbo is a native of Detroit, MI and a proud graduate of Howard University, where she earned a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and became a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. She also earned an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. When not on stage she can be found teaching an array of fitness classes. She has been a certified Zumba and Aqua Zumba instructor since 2012. She also teaches Water Aerobics and Tabata fitness formats. She teaches virtual classes every Wednesday, and Saturday on Zoom, FB Live and IG live. Please join her Facebook group “Yewande’s Zumba Class” for updates and NEW CLASSES coming soon!
Marlon Forrester
Marlon Forrester, born in Guyana, South America, is an artist and educator raised in Boston, MA. Forrester is a graduate of School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, B.A 2008 and Yale School of Art, M.F.A. 2010. He is a resident artist at African-American Masters Artist Residency Program (AAMARP) adjunct to the Department of African-American Studies in association with Northeastern University. He has shown both internationally and nationally, concerned with the corporate use of the black body, or the body as logo, Forrester’s paintings, drawings, sculptures, and multimedia works reflect meditations on the exploitation implicit in the simultaneous apotheosis and fear of the muscular black figure in America.

Inspired by the Persian literary masterpiece The Conference of the Birds, this piece shares stories of modern epic journeys collected from members of local Muslim, immigrant, refugee and dance communities in a magnificent allegory about the human spirit and the quest for the divine.
