Michaila Cowie is the Director of Theatre Arts. She oversees the Theatre Rentals Program and several Performing Arts initiatives at BCA, including the Playwright and Launchpad Residencies, and the #HellaBlack series. In her current role at BCA, she has been able to support over 50 arts organizations and over 65 individual artists in their own practices. She has supported artists in developing new work, capacity-building, and artistic mentorship.

Michaila has also been in the Boston Theatre community for 10 years as a stage manager and consultant. She is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association and has worked with companies such as the Huntington Theatre, Front Porch Arts Collective, Central Square Theatre, Greater Boston Theatre Company, Actors’ Shakespeare Project and more. Michaila is also well versed in the indie-film community in Boston, and has worked on many sets as the 1st Assistant Director.

She received her BFA with a concentration in Theatre Arts and English from UMass Lowell.
