Yue Hua: Journey to Home

Journey to Home [working title] by Activate Resident Yue Hua is a multimedia installation combining digital media, 16mm analog film, and personal objects to explore layered meanings of home from both personal and Boston community perspectives. As a Chinese artist who arrived in the U.S. with two suitcases, Yue reflects on rebuilding a sense of home through memory, culture, and connection. Using handmade, found, and live-recorded film, she creates a sensory portrait inspired by haiku and visual poetry.

The final work will be documented as a mini-doc by Activate Residency filmmaker Amir Dixon, who is also collaborating on a series of self-reflective videos as part of the installation.

Yue welcomes you to participate in the creation of installation elements, experience the exhibit, and offer feedback during the creation process. Be part of the installation and share your meaning of “home” through multiple access points.

Limited Capacity | Please RSVP to attend.
