Boston Center for the Arts is thrilled — once again! — to present VoCA Talks, a series of public programs featuring artists and their collaborators in conversation about the challenges and rewards inherent in making, showing, and preserving contemporary art. This virtual event, hosted in partnership with Boston Center for the Arts, will feature a live conversation with artist Dell Marie Hamilton and curator Sam Toabe, moderated by Jennifer Hickey, to be followed by the video premiere of the previously recorded VoCA Talk. In this Talk, Hamilton unpacks the many layers of material and meaning that comprise a selection of her drawings, photography, performance, video, and multimedia installations, including her seminal performance work, “Blues/Blank/Black” (2018).
This program is free and open to the public, but we ask that you please register in advance here. This is event will also be closed captioned; please contact VoCA’s Program Manager at margaret@voca.network with any questions or additional access requests.
