The central conflict of this new musical is deceptively simple: two people who love each other, walking toward different futures at different speeds. But the ground beneath them is the ground beneath all of us — burnout, grief, climate anxiety, the weight of deciding whether to bring a child into a broken world. These are the questions of our moment, and this play doesn’t chase them. It arrived at them the way all honest art does — through lived experience. That difference is visible on the page.
