The Lion in Winter

Presented by Theater Uncorked in the BCA Plaza Theatre

Who’s ready for some family dysfunction?

James Goldman’s The Lion in Winter is a Tony award-winner and a modern-day classic, packed with action and dripping with dark humor. Set during Christmas 1183, the play explores the power struggles and inner conflicts between King Henry II of England, his brilliant wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and their three wily and resentful sons. As the family comes together for the first time in years, the chess game of royal succession begins, with everyone vying for power, prestige, and the greatest prize of all — real love. As Eleanor says,  “What family doesn’t have its ups and downs?”
