BCA’s Launchpad Music Resident, Castle of Our Skins, Presents From the Motherland
From the Motherland explores Zimbabwean cultural roots and a personal rite of passage into womanhood.
Featuring a series of twelve songs entitled Mwedzi (moon, menstrual cycle, and month in Chivanhu culture), From the Motherland including original works by Shirley Graham du Bois Creative in Residence Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa Nzou Mambano for solo voice, mbira, piano, percussion and bass.
