Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman have both transformed the Indian music landscape with their creativity and prolific body of work that have transcended their chosen medium – Indian film music. They have pioneered numerous musical devices and have integrated so many styles of music from around the world and have developed their own unique and instantly identifiable signatures. In this presentation, Prasanna will explain, demonstrate and perform the music of Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman showing you where they converge and where they diverge in their composition, arranging and, production styles. Whether you are a casual and curious listener, a serious music fan or someone who wants to get more acquainted with nuances of their music, you are in for a transformative experience!
