Jialun Wang

Guest Graphic Designer: BCA Mills Gallery Exhibitions 2023–2024

Jialun Wang (b. Tianjin, China) is a designer and the co-founder of Gallon Design based in Boston. He holds an MFA degree from Boston University and a BFA degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His creative endeavors revolve around typography and vernacular culture in both physical and digital spaces. His design practice fosters fresh connections between language and culture, the process of encoding and decoding, and the interplay of modality and semiosis. He has been awarded the “2023-Student-To-Watch” by USA Graphic Design. His work and research have been recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Hanyi Fonts, and Young Ones TDC, and published in Communication Arts and Slanted Magazine. His works have been exhibited globally, including in China, the United States, Germany, and Egypt.

Jialun is the BCA Mills Gallery Exhibitions’ guest graphic designer for the 2023–2024 season. In this role, he designs foldout posters in collaboration with the artists and curators for each exhibition.
