Artist Statement

I strive to create generous, inclusive artworks that emphasize shared spaces and the hopeful examination of our everyday places, objects, and experiences. The art that I make is grounded in the belief that we each have the capacity to activate positive change in our communities. Through multimedia creations and participatory interventions I aim to ignite our collective consciousness to the inherent brilliance of our day to day lives. My work speaks to our immediate surroundings, and also to our broader human experience: relationships, expectations, triumph, loss – and above all, hope. I seek to heighten our awareness of what may be considered commonplace, and to encourage viewers and participants to connect to one another and to the richness of possibility that is always within our reach.
