DOE, a member of AOA SUPPLY, developed an affinity for miniature sketches of landscapes with graffiti. His charred pieces cover a wide variety of isolated spaces that are done with a butane lighter, ink and watercolor. The precisely detailed compositions of objects, some no larger than a bottle cap, call out to the viewer to step closer and explore them more intimately. Each creation portrays a different incarnation of “streets meets nature” with works that beautifully embody the layered realities of architecture at various points in time.
DOE’s three-year BCA Studio Residency is supported by Wagner Foundation.
