Amanda Shea

Curator of #HellaBlack Vol. 7: Shift | Curator of #HellaBlack Vol. 6: Sacred | Performing Artist at #HellaBlack Live MixTape Vol. 5: Soul

Shea is an artist, performer, educator, artivist, film producer, host, and curator. She co-founded and curated six iterations of Activating ARTivism, a community festival to amplify POC through art, activism, and resistance. Her work can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, The Boston Globe, TEDX, TEDXRoxbury, Netflix, Prime Video, BBC News, GBH and much more. Shea is the curator and host of GBH OUTSPOKEN SATURDAYS. Shea is the recipient of The Boston Foundation LAB Grant 2024. Shea will release her first book, “Pieces of Shea” in 2025.

Amanda is also the producer of the award-winning film BLACK: Narratives in Boston’s Black Queer & Trans History, a groundbreaking documentary that highlights the rich and complex stories of Boston’s Black LGBTQ+ community. Amanda‘s work examines her personal life experiences, social justice issues, and healing through trauma, utilizing art as a tool. Amanda was the curator for #HellaBlack Vol 6: Sacred in 2024.
