Sleeping Weazel

Sleeping Weazel produces bold, multimedia theatre and hybrid performance with social justice ideals. Celebrating the ridiculous, the sublime, and the earth-shattering, their aim is to cross the boundaries of popular and high art, and to collaborate with artists of diverse generations and cultures, working in various genres. Now in its fourteenth year in Boston, the company has premiered 20 productions of original works — at Boston Center for the Arts, ArtsEmerson, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Outside the Box Boston, and the former Factory Theatre. A two-time recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Production/Small Theatre (The Audacity: Women Speak and 3/Fifths’ Trapped in a Traveling Minstrel Show), Sleeping Weazel continues to expand the scope of art forms and collaborators they engage in their mission to make different possible.
