Untitled 2026 (Recipe/Requiem/Remix) is a social artwork by Skooby Laposky that transforms the Cyclorama into a Thai pop-up restaurant, sound installation, and restorative space. Inspired by Rirkrit Tiravanija’s cooking-based artworks, the project invites the Greater Boston public to share in a communal meal and a moment of reflection.
With Brooklyn-based artist Daniel Pravit Fethke, Laposky will prepare his late mother Oratai Boonlorm’s favorite Thai dishes featuring horapa (Thai basil) growing onsite in an Aerogarden. The basil connects to a custom biodata sonification system, generating ambient music in real time from the plants’ physiological responses.
This evolving sound “requiem,” incorporating recordings of his mother’s khaen, will surround visitors as they rest, listen, and reflect—nourishing both body and spirit through food, memory, and sound.
Throughout the residency, this work will be documented by resident filmmaker Evan Sheets.
